Cut Gate

Dark Peak Singletrack has it’s own unique character – short, sharper offering concentrated technical value littered with ruts, bomb holes and rocky sections. Glorious high moorland settings of the Dark Peak is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on the mind of any MTB rider. This Cut Gate is as tricky as you want to make it (take care with line choices!!). A superb variety of surfaces and great opportunities to grab air make this lovely section of singletrack a real winner.

Wharncliffe

A fun day out! At it’s best in dryer months Wharncliffe is surrounded with quality singletrack, most of which is secretive and every corner brings up something different.. The second of the single track sections described in our Wharncliffe Cross Country Circuit is a superb, tight, twisty technical blast, plagued with a smooth mixture of rock gardens, bombholes and roots. Bring it on!

Jacobs Ladder

A classic loop containing the must do trails of Rushup Edge, Royd Clough and the infamous Jacob’s Ladder. The terrain is typical Peak District and is rideable all year round. The scenery is to die for so don’t forget your camera!

Mary Towneley Loop

The Mary Towneley Loop is an ideal loop to encounter. Can be done in a day depending on fitness. The route takes you on a journey through the South Pennines and is only a stones throw away from our base. You will encounter open moorland and hidden reservoirs, ancient packhorse tracks sweeping into valleys with grit stone walls, mill chimneys and canals offering a glimpse of past histories.

I hope we at Ride Rural have whet your appetite for a great MTB experience.
